Chennai police arrest fraudsters issuing fake Korean visas
Chennai police arrested two individuals for operating a fraudulent website that issued fake Korean visas, deceiving over 100 applicants. The Central Crime Branch apprehended Mohammed Parvez in Mumbai and Mahaveer Khathat in Jaipur, Rajasthan, after a complaint from the Korean Consulate. The fraudsters collected money from applicants, including Rs 5 lakh from one student, by creating a website mimicking the official visa portal. The investigation began after a student received a suspicious visa notice, leading to the discovery of the fake website and a subsequent police investigation. Authorities are also searching for a third suspect operating from Indonesia.
