Chennai Metro plans Koyambedu to Pattabiram extension with 19 stations
Chennai Metro Rail Limited has proposed a new metro extension from Koyambedu to Pattabiram, covering 21.76 km and costing Rs 9,744 crore. The project includes 19 elevated stations to enhance connectivity in the western suburbs. The detailed project report outlines the route, which will pass through key areas like Padi Pudhu Nagar, Mogappair, and Avadi. It aims to connect major transport hubs, including Avadi Railway Station and Avadi Bus Terminus. The project will also feature three integrated flyovers to reduce congestion and improve travel efficiency. This extension responds to the growing demand for better transport options in Chennai's expanding western suburbs.
