Chelsea eyes striker Victor Boniface after Saudi snub
Chelsea is reportedly interested in signing striker Victor Boniface. The Nigerian player almost joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr earlier this year but the deal fell through. Al-Nassr was looking for a new striker to team up with Cristiano Ronaldo. They initially considered Boniface but ended up signing Jhon Duran for £64 million instead. Despite missing out on the Saudi move, Boniface is said to be happy at Bayer Leverkusen. His sporting director, Simon Rolfes, mentioned that Boniface enjoys being with his teammates and feels positive about his future. He has been in good spirits, sharing laughs in the locker room. Chelsea is now considering Boniface as an option, especially as they look for a new center-forward for the summer transfer window. Nicolas Jackson, the current striker, has struggled with injuries and has been inconsistent. Chelsea has also shown interest in players like Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko, but they face tough competition from other clubs. Boniface has been impressive this season, scoring seven goals in the Bundesliga in just under 10 matches. His performance could provide valuable competition for Jackson and help Chelsea in their pursuit of top form in the Premier League.
