Charlie Kirk nominated for EU Parliament's Sakharov Prize

American conservative commentator Charlie Kirk has been nominated for the EU Parliament's Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. The nomination comes from the far-right European group ESN, primarily composed of German AFD members. Other nominees include journalists and aid workers in Palestine, Budapest Pride organizers, and activists from Algeria, Georgia, and Serbia. The prize, awarded for freedom of thought, will be decided in October by Parliament President Roberta Metsola and party group leaders. Andrzej Poczobut, a Polish-Belarusian journalist, is a frontrunner.
