Chandigarh officials discussed illegal street vendors

Illegal street vendors in Chandigarh's commercial areas were the primary topic of discussion at Monday's municipal house meeting. Councillors expressed concern over the vendors' presence, including some operating at night, while officials reported that over 6,900 vendor licenses were canceled due to unpaid fees. Only 4,035 vendors are currently licensed and paying fees. The mayor will review appeals from vendors with canceled licenses, and the fate of the defaulters, primarily non-essential service providers, will be decided in a future meeting.
