Chandigarh liquor shops offer discounts before new policy

Liquor shops in Chandigarh are currently offering significant discounts on all brands of alcohol. This promotion runs until March 31, 2025, due to a new excise policy that takes effect on April 1. The discounts have attracted large crowds to the stores. Many brands are now being sold at nearly half their original prices. Popular choices like Indri, Black Dog, and Blender’s Pride are included. For example, Red Label is now priced at Rs 750, while some brands like All Seasons and Royal Stag are available for Rs 300. Even less expensive brands, such as Officer’s Choice, are being sold for just Rs 160. High-end brands are also seeing steep reductions. Blender’s Pride Reserve and Antiquity Blue are now priced at Rs 600. Meanwhile, Indri and Godawan Rich, once costing up to Rs 3,500, are now available for Rs 2,200. Price lists on display outside the stores show these new lower prices. The current discounts are a response to the upcoming excise policy for 2025-26. Liquor prices in Chandigarh are already lower than in surrounding regions like Punjab and Haryana. The new policy might change prices again, but for now, stores are busy with customers taking advantage of these deals.
