Cebu City launches first Chorizo De Cebu festival to celebrate local culture

Cebu City launched its first 'Chorizo De Cebu' festival on February 17, as part of its 88th Charter Day celebrations. The event, organized by the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries and the City Market Authority, runs until February 21 at Plaza Sugbo. Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia emphasized the importance of promoting Chorizo De Cebu, highlighting its cultural significance alongside other local foods like lechon and puso. He expressed a desire to recognize the original makers of the sausage in future awards. The festival features various stalls showcasing Chorizo products, with some offering free tastings. The event aims to support local businesses involved in Chorizo-making.
