CBSE sets 75% attendance rule for Class 10 and 12 board exams in 2025
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made 75% attendance mandatory for students to sit for the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams in February 2025. This is a new requirement aimed at ensuring students' overall development. Students can receive a 25% relaxation in attendance for specific reasons, such as medical emergencies or participation in sports, if they provide proper documentation. However, those with attendance below 75% will be barred from the exams. Schools must inform students and parents about these attendance rules. If students are absent without valid leave during surprise inspections, they will also be disqualified from the exams. Attendance will be assessed as of January 1st of the academic year.
