Catherine O'Hara has publicly disagreed with "Home Alone" director Chris Columbus regarding the jobs of the McCallister parents. Columbus suggested that O'Hara's character, Kate, was a successful fashion designer, while O'Hara believes she was also focused on being a homemaker. Columbus mentioned that Peter McCallister might have worked in advertising, dismissing fan theories about organized crime. O'Hara, however, emphasized that Kate's role included homemaking and caring for her children, not just her career. "Home Alone" recently marked its 34th anniversary. The iconic house from the film sold for $5.5 million, exceeding its original asking price of $5.25 million.
