Canary Islands saw electric/hybrid cars outsell gasoline

Over half of all new car sales in the Canary Islands during May were electric or hybrid vehicles, marking a significant shift in the market. Specifically, 51.3% of the vehicles sold in May were electrified, with hybrid models nearly doubling their sales compared to the previous year. Gasoline-powered vehicles still lead the market, but their share is decreasing. Overall vehicle registrations in the Canary Islands increased by 5% in May, with a 7.19% increase year-to-date, driven by growth in the tourism and business sectors.
