BYD introduces advanced driver assistance technology across its electric vehicle lineup
BYD announced on February 10, 2025, that it will integrate DeepSeek's AI into its new driver-assistance technology, called "DiPilot." This marks a shift from its previous cautious approach to autonomous driving, aiming to make advanced smart driving a standard feature. The new system will be available across BYD's range of vehicles, including a low-cost model priced at 69,800 yuan ($9,555). Analysts noted that this makes BYD the first Chinese automaker to offer such advanced features in this price range. BYD's move comes as it seeks to enhance its competitive position in the electric vehicle market, where other companies have already introduced driver-assistance features. The automaker did not provide details on global availability for the new technology.
