BYD introduces 14.5 MWh battery block for grid-scale storage

BYD has unveiled a record 14.5 MWh DC battery block for grid-scale energy storage, significantly increasing capacity and energy density. The new Haohan battery, housed in a standard 20-foot container, offers over double the typical capacity of existing large systems and boasts a 51 percent higher volumetric energy density. This innovation aims to reduce land use, equipment needs, and lifetime energy costs for grid-scale projects, intensifying competition in the large-scale battery market.
