Butch Wilmore faces challenges adjusting after Earth return

NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore recently returned to Earth after a nine-month stay on the International Space Station (ISS). He and fellow astronaut Sunita Williams splashed down off the coast of Florida earlier this week. Butch's daughter, Daryn Wilmore, offered an update on his condition after the long mission. She mentioned in a TikTok video that adjusting to gravity again is challenging for him. “He's doing good, it's rough, but he's a trooper,” Daryn said. Daryn shared her excitement about her father's return. She humorously named her video series "My Dad is Stuck in Space" but noted that it has now come to an end. While they are not planning a large party, Daryn mentioned a small gathering with close friends to celebrate. She is also preparing Butch's favorite dessert, pecan pie, and has made a list of things to do together to make up for lost time. To help Butch adjust back to life on Earth, Daryn explained that he will undergo several medical tests in the coming days. This is part of ongoing research on human spaceflight and will help him reacclimate to gravity and his routine.
