Brookfield sells 1.6GW renewable assets to Gentari

Brookfield Asset Management has sold a 1.6GW portfolio of solar and wind assets in India to Gentari Renewables. The deal is structured in two phases, with the first phase, involving 1GW of operating assets, now complete. This sale marks Brookfield's first full-cycle portfolio monetization in India for its renewable power business. The company has around 40GW of renewable assets in India and a global portfolio of 46GW. India aims for 500GW of renewable power capacity by 2030, with current capacity at 209.44GW. Significant investments are needed to meet this target, highlighting the growing interest in the country's renewable energy sector.
