Brian Nolan urges men to get prostate cancer screenings

Brian Nolan, brother of Loose Women star Coleen Nolan, has shared his diagnosis of prostate cancer on television. He spoke on ITV's Loose Women about the importance of health screenings. At 70 years old, Brian is also coping with the recent loss of his sister, Linda, who passed away in January. During the show, Brian emphasized that cancer does not have to be a death sentence. He urged men to get a PSA test every year. He explained that many men may not experience symptoms and do not receive notifications for testing. He wants to change this by promoting awareness and helping others understand the importance of early detection. Brian recounted the moment he learned about his diagnosis. He described feeling speechless when the doctor confirmed he had cancer after testing for bladder issues. He was joined by his wife, who was also upset by the news. Throughout this difficult time, Coleen praised Brian for his strength. He had tried to keep his illness private so the family could focus on mourning their sister Linda. The Nolan family has been heavily impacted by cancer. They have lost multiple family members to the disease, including Bernie, who died in 2003. Coleen herself shared her battle with skin cancer in 2023. She continues to receive treatment for carcinoma and pre-melanoma.
