Brazil's giant dinosaurs suffered bone disease

Giant sauropod dinosaurs in Brazil suffered from a deadly bone disease approximately 80 million years ago. Fossilized bones revealed unhealed lesions consistent with osteomyelitis, suggesting pathogens spread through stagnant water or insect bites. Six individuals from the Cretaceous period likely died from the active infection.
