Bonmarche will close its Hemel Hempstead store

Bonmarche, a high street chain with over 200 stores, will close its Hemel Hempstead location in July, adding to a string of recent closures. Shoppers have expressed disappointment over the upcoming closure of the store. This closure follows the recent shuttering of a Bonmarche branch in Derbyshire in March. The company stated it is looking for new locations as part of an upgrade program, encouraging customers to visit nearby stores. Retailers are closing stores due to factors like online shopping competition, rising costs, and changing consumer preferences, with some shifting focus to retail parks or online sales. The Centre for Retail Research predicts significant retail site closures this year.
