Blue Ghost successfully lands on the moon with NASA experiments
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lunar lander successfully touched down on the moon, marking the first private spacecraft to land upright. It delivered ten experiments for NASA, including a drill and vacuum, as part of NASA's commercial lunar delivery program. The landing occurred on Sunday, with confirmation from Mission Control in Texas. Blue Ghost's stable landing sets it apart from previous attempts, as only five countries have successfully landed on the moon. Two other companies are preparing to land their lunar landers soon. NASA aims for two private lunar missions each year to foster a lunar economy, despite the history of failed attempts by various organizations.
