Blue Ghost Mission 1 aims to explore the Moon
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost Mission 1 is set to land on the Moon today, March 2, 2025, at approximately 12:20 pm. The mission targets Mare Crisium, an area on the Moon's near side. NASA awarded Firefly a contract worth $93.3 million for this mission, which includes delivering 10 science and technology payloads. If all payloads land successfully, the total payment could reach $101.5 million. Launched on January 15, 2025, the Blue Ghost lander entered lunar orbit on February 13. It will operate on the Moon's surface for about 14 days during the lunar daylight period.
