Blue Ghost lunar lander set for March 2 landing
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lunar lander is set to land on Mare Crisium on March 2, 2025. This mission is part of NASA's Artemis program and will carry ten payloads to study the Moon's surface and environment. The Blue Ghost mission aims to reduce lunar exploration costs by partnering with private companies. Firefly Aerospace will receive $101.5 million if all payloads successfully land. This is the third mission under NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Service initiative. The spacecraft launched on January 15, 2025, and has successfully orbited the Earth before heading to the Moon. The landing is scheduled for 3:45 a.m. Eastern Time, with live coverage available on NASA and Firefly's YouTube channels starting at 2:20 a.m. Eastern Time.
