Blue Ghost lunar lander captures stunning Earth views as it approaches Moon landing
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lunar lander is nearing its historic Moon landing, scheduled for March 2. It recently completed a second lunar orbit maneuver and captured stunning footage of Earth rising and setting behind the Moon. The lander performed a 16-second burn to enter a near-circular low lunar orbit. It is preparing for a 19-second Descent Orbit Insertion, which will begin its descent to Mare Crisium. Blue Ghost is part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services program. It carries ten NASA instruments to study the Moon's surface and will operate for about 14 Earth days after landing.
