Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lunar lander has captured impressive images of the moon's far side from 62 miles above the surface. The photos were taken on February 24, ahead of its planned landing on March 2. The lander, which launched on January 15, is part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services program. It carries 10 NASA payloads for various scientific studies and aims to land in the Mare Crisium region. If successful, Blue Ghost will become the second private spacecraft to soft-land on the moon, following Intuitive Machines' Odysseus. Other landers, including Intuitive Machines' Athena and ispace's Resilience, are also preparing for upcoming lunar missions.
