Blackpool's Grand Theatre restoration work completed successfully
The restoration of Blackpool's Grand Theatre, a historic Victorian building, has finished after eight months of work. This Grade II-listed theatre, which opened in 1894, received extensive repairs to its stonework and roof. The illuminated sign at the top of the theatre has been fully restored for the first time since the 1970s. Arts Council England provided funding for this project, which aims to make the theatre more accessible to visitors. Chief executive Adam Knight praised the results of the restoration, calling them "terrific." He believes the work will greatly benefit the town center. The capital investment also fulfilled a long-term goal of restoring the theatre's illuminated sign and its famous dome with a unique pineapple finial.
