Bishop McGuinness beats Carver 23-1 in baseball game
The Bishop McGuinness baseball team had a strong performance on Friday night, winning 23-1 against Carver. The game took place in the Northwest Piedmont 1-A conference. Bishop McGuinness scored five runs in the first inning and added four more in the second. The team took advantage of mistakes made by Carver, scoring 14 runs in the fifth inning. The game ended after three innings due to the 15-run rule. Jack Lambeth started as pitcher and earned the win for Bishop. Will Valente pitched the second inning, and Anderson Lynch finished the game. Carver only managed one hit throughout the match. At the plate, Lambeth had a notable performance, going 1-for-1 with four RBIs and two walks. Max Aquilar went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and one RBI. Spencer Richard and James Rashford also contributed, both scoring multiple runs. After starting the season with five losses, Bishop McGuinness's record improved to 5-6. They are now 2-0 in their conference. The team will play against Millenium Charter on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
