"Birds of a Feather" won't return after co-star's illness
Linda Robson has shared an important update about the future of the TV show "Birds of a Feather." This comes after her co-star Pauline Quirke was diagnosed with dementia. Robson, who played Tracey Stubbs, said the show will not return without Quirke, who portrayed Sharon Theodopolopodous. Robson expressed her feelings in an interview, stating, "It wouldn't be the same without her." She feels the show has had its time and that fans should now move on. "Birds of a Feather" originally aired from 1989 to 1998 and had a comeback on ITV from 2014 to 2020. During its peak, the show attracted 15 million viewers. Reflecting on its impact, Robson noted how much fans still cherish the series. Sadly, she also revealed that Quirke, who has been her friend for 56 years, no longer recognizes her. Robson commented on the heartbreaking nature of dementia, acknowledging the changes it brings. In January, Quirke's husband announced her retirement due to her condition. He asked for privacy and understanding for their family during this challenging time, as Quirke wishes to focus on spending time with her loved ones.
