nordkurier.de (German)

A suspected leader of a Balkan cartel will face trial in Berlin on Tuesday for allegedly orchestrating an attempted murder. The charges stem from a failed assassination attempt in 2020. The 34-year-old Serbian national is accused of planning the attack on a rival gang member in Berlin. The victim survived the shooting but was later killed in a car bomb explosion in Montenegro. The suspect, considered a high-ranking figure in organized crime by Europol, was arrested in Barcelona in October 2024. He was also wanted in several other countries for alleged involvement in multiple murders.
