A cold snap in British Columbia has led to school closures and extreme weather warnings. Several school districts in Metro Vancouver, including Langley and Abbotsford, closed due to snow and poor road conditions. Environment Canada warns of extreme cold, with wind-chill temperatures dropping to – 45 C in northern areas and – 25 C on the coast. Snowfall warnings are also in effect for parts of Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands. In-person learning is suspended at multiple universities, including the University of B.C. and B.C.
