Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors, has topped the 2025 Fortune's Most Powerful Women in Business list for the second year in a row. The annual list, now in its 28th year, uses a new, more complex scoring system that considers business metrics, influence, innovation, and career trajectory. This year's top three also include Julie Sweet of Accenture and Jane Fraser of Citigroup. The list highlights the dominance of American women in leadership, with over half of the honorees based in the US. AMD's Lisa Su ranked fourth, and several Chinese executives, including Meng Wanzhou of Huawei, also made the list.
