Bangladesh launches operation to find attackers of student activists at ex-minister's home
Bangladesh's interim government has launched "Operation Devil Hunt" to find those responsible for attacking student activists at the home of ex-minister AKM Mozammel Haque. The operation follows a 24-hour ultimatum from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. The attack occurred during protests in Gazipur, where students claim they were trying to prevent looting. Several activists were injured, with some hospitalized. The police have initiated a manhunt for the attackers, and an officer has been suspended for negligence. This incident is part of ongoing violence in Bangladesh, which has seen around 70 attacks across 35 districts since a recent protest against the deposed prime minister. The unrest follows the ousting of the Awami League, which had been in power for nearly 16 years.
