Bangalore Hindi Theatre Community celebrates World Theatre Day
The Bangalore Hindi Theatre Community invites theatre groups to celebrate World Theatre Day in a special event. Amit Aggarwal, the founder of the community, encourages Hindi theatre practitioners to gather, share ideas, and discuss their vision for 2025. Theatre is a place where stories come to life through performances. Despite its financial challenges, it remains a vibrant art form across different cultures and languages. Amit started his journey in Hindi theatre in 2005 and saw a small number of groups at that time. In 2012, he founded the Bangalore Hindi Theatre Community, which has now grown to include 50 active groups and over 1,000 members. The community not only connects artists but also provides resources like stage props and costumes to help reduce costs. Amit runs this initiative on a volunteer basis. He believes in fostering collaboration among actors and groups, allowing members to work beyond their own companies. This year's World Theatre Day celebrations will take place on March 29, instead of the official date, to increase attendance. Amit and his team want everyone to experience theatre together despite any logistical challenges. The event will start at 3 PM and include updates on the Hindi theatre scene, discussions about future projects, and a music jam to wrap things up. It will be held at Vyoma Artspace & Studio in JP Nagar.
