Banarasi Kimkhwab exhibition opens at Bharat Kala Bhavan in India

A 58-day exhibition of Banarasi Kimkhwab textiles has opened at Bharat Kala Bhavan Museum, showcasing garments from the 18th to 20th centuries. The exhibition runs from November 22, 2024, to January 18, 2025. Alongside the exhibition, a national symposium on 'Banaras Brocade' is being held, gathering textile experts to discuss traditional weaving techniques. The symposium includes visits to local weaver clusters. Additionally, a three-day program for children called "Fun & Learn: Young Curators, Big Discoveries" started to educate them about museum roles and operations. This event is part of World Heritage Week activities.
