Australian authors dominate 2024 bestseller list with cookbooks and fiction
In 2024, Australian author Nagi Maehashi dominated the bestseller list with her cookbooks, selling nearly 300,000 copies of RecipeTin Eats: Tonight. Her first book, RecipeTin Eats: Dinner, also performed well, making it the biggest-selling cookbook in Australia. Liane Moriarty's novel Here One Moment was the top fiction title, selling 158,000 copies. Other notable Australian fiction included Trent Dalton's Lola in the Mirror and several genre novels that thrived, despite a decline in overall book sales. The Australian book market saw a 1.3% drop in sales volume, totaling 68.9 million titles. However, e-book and audiobook markets grew, with local authors maintaining strong positions against international titles in the bestseller rankings.
