Aura frames will keep syncing with Google Photos

theverge.com

Aura, the company known for digital photo frames, announced that its frames will still sync automatically with Google Photos. This comes after initial news that the feature would end on March 17th due to changes in how Google allows apps to access photo libraries. Aura spokesperson Jenisse Curry confirmed the update. She stated that the company is working closely with Google to keep the auto-sync feature active. Users of Aura frames will not need to take any additional steps for this feature to continue. The sync function allows users to display shared photos easily. For example, you can gift an Aura frame to a grandparent and ensure that they receive updated pictures of their grandchildren directly from Google Photos. Initially, if the auto-sync feature had been removed, users would have had to manually send new images to the frame. However, the feature will remain active as Aura releases more details closer to March 31st. Google announced changes to its photo access policies in September. These changes aim to improve user privacy and will still be implemented as planned. Google is offering support to partners like Aura to help them adjust to the new rules. A spokesperson from Cozyla was not available for comment regarding their plans for auto-sync with Google Photos.
