Audi launches new naming system to clarify vehicle types and features

Audi is introducing a new naming system for its vehicles to better indicate their type, size, shape, and powertrain. The system will use letters to denote vehicle categories, followed by numbers for size, and specific codes for powertrains. The updated nomenclature will eliminate the use of odd and even numbers to indicate powertrain technologies. Body styles like Avant, Sedan, or Sportback will also be included in the names. The new system will debut with a combustion engine model on March 4th. Current models will retain their names, but the new system aims to clarify previous confusion, especially with E-tron vehicles. The Q8 E-tron and Q6 E-tron will now have clearer designations under the new naming convention.
