Attendance Allowance to rise by 1.7% in April 2025 for millions in the UK

Attendance Allowance will increase by 1.7% in April 2025, benefiting over 1.6 million people. The new rates will be £72.65 per week for the lower rate and £108.55 for the higher rate. This increase follows the Chancellor's announcement in October, aimed at providing support amid rising living costs. The benefit is available to those over state pension age who need help due to illness or disability. Claimants must have needed assistance for at least six months, but those who are terminally ill can apply immediately. Attendance Allowance is not means-tested and does not affect other benefits.
