Attackers assault Phoenix officer; police arrest them

A Phoenix police officer was assaulted and sustained minor injuries while responding to a report of criminal damage on July 5. The officer was attacked in an alley by a man who resisted arrest, and then by a teen who intervened. Pepper spray was used to stop the fight, and both attackers were later booked for aggravated assault. Twenty individuals exited a nearby residence after police established containment. The incident is under investigation, and the identities of the attackers remain undisclosed.
