AT&T launches March Madness ad featuring Nova Knicks players

Villanova University's basketball team may not be in the NCAA Tournament this year, but it still makes an appearance through a new AT&T commercial. The ad features four former Villanova players who now play in the NBA: Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo. These players were part of two National Championship-winning teams and are known as "The Nova Knicks" because they are all connected to the New York Knicks. The commercial showcases the players laughing and reminiscing about their time together. It begins with Brunson, Bridges, and Hart walking in an arena tunnel when they see DiVincenzo, who now plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Set to the song "See You Again," the ad highlights their friendship and connections, even as DiVincenzo expresses feeling left out after the trade. Brunson joined the Knicks first in 2022, and later, Hart and DiVincenzo were also traded to the team, bringing the former college teammates back together. The Knicks aimed to leverage their championship experience from college to succeed in the NBA. However, DiVincenzo was traded again last season to acquire star player Karl-Anthony Towns, breaking up the group. The Villanova Wildcats were a strong team during their 2017-2018 season. They won the National Championship, and key players like Brunson and Bridges contributed significantly. Brunson averaged almost 19 points per game, leading the team to a remarkable record. As for DiVincenzo, although he started slow with the Timberwolves, he has started to find his form, averaging around 12 points per game. Meanwhile, Towns has been a standout player for the Knicks this season. The AT&T commercial serves as a nostalgic reminder of the bond these players share, even as their paths have diverged in the NBA.
