A new report reveals a concerning increase in long payment delays for companies in the Asia-Pacific region, signaling economic uncertainty. This trend is particularly pronounced in China. The report, released Wednesday by Coface, indicates that two-thirds of Asia-Pacific firms anticipate shorter payment terms in the next six months. While overall payment terms edged up slightly in 2023, ultra-long payment delays have risen sharply. The survey, conducted between December 2024 and March 2025, found that the share of Chinese firms offering credit sales dropped significantly. The rise in ultra-long payment delays is a key concern.
