Two young siblings drowned in Arunachal Pradesh after being swept away by strong river currents on Friday. The children, aged nine and seven, were at the confluence of the Panyor river and Pakki stream. The incident occurred near Sakiang village when the children, accompanied by another minor, went to the river unsupervised. One child survived, while the siblings' bodies were recovered, one on Friday and the other on Saturday. Police were notified Saturday morning but were delayed reaching the site due to poor road conditions. Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki offered condolences, calling the event a tragedy.
