Artemis Technologies ends Belfast apprenticeship program, cuts jobs
Artemis Technologies, an electric boat manufacturer, has terminated its apprenticeship program, potentially leading to the redundancy of 14 apprentices. The company cited resource constraints as the reason for the decision. The Belfast-based firm, focused on zero-emission boats, stated the move was due to underestimating the resources needed for apprentice training. The apprenticeships were in partnership with Belfast Metropolitan College, which will seek alternative placements. Three additional staff members also face redundancy as part of a company restructuring. Artemis is developing a zero-carbon ferry, expected to launch later this year.
