Art Central Hong Kong 2025 showcases over 500 artists
Art Central is back in Hong Kong for its 10th edition, taking place at the Central Harbourfront from March 26 to March 30, 2025. This event is a key highlight of Hong Kong Art Week and plays an important role in the region's arts scene. The fair features 108 galleries and over 500 artists from more than 40 countries. It showcases contemporary art and experimental works, providing a platform for both established and emerging artists. Supported by the Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund, Art Central attracts art lovers from all over. Among the highlights this year is a large-scale installation by Hong Kong artist Nadim Abbas. There will also be performances and lectures, including a special initiative focusing on influential artists born before 1970. This initiative features notable figures like Ay-O, Eikoh Hosoe, and Emily Kame Kngwarray. A returning section called Neo showcases 15 galleries that present fresh and innovative talent. Notable participants include Areté Space from Beijing and FIM from Seoul, among others. Contemporary photography will be highlighted by Avocado Art Lab from Taipei, while Shunpudo Gallery from Tokyo will focus on Japanese art since the post-war era. Additionally, Art Central includes a Video Art program featuring pieces from the Akeroyd Collection. The fair is open for public viewing until March 30, offering a wide range of artworks.
