Arizona's Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva dies at 77

Democratic U.S. Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva of Arizona has died at age 77 due to complications from cancer treatment. He served 12 terms in Congress and was known for his work on environmental protection. Grijalva chaired the U.S. House Natural Resources Committee and was the leading Democrat on the committee until earlier this year. He had been absent from Congress while undergoing treatment. His office highlighted his achievements, including efforts to protect the Grand Canyon and improve the Affordable Care Act. Another Democratic representative, Sylvester Turner of Texas, passed away last week.
