Appeal rejected for convicted murderer Rachel Fulstow
Rachel Fulstow's appeal against her life sentence for murder has been denied by judges. She and her former partner, Michael Hillier, were convicted last year for killing Liam Smith in Wigan. The brutal crime involved Hillier shooting Smith before using acid on his body. Fulstow, now 39, argued that her trial had many failures and that she had been wrongly convicted. Her defense pointed to issues during the trial, such as not allowing a witness to testify and having only ten jurors. However, the appeal judges found no grounds for her claims. Hillier shot Smith after claiming revenge for a past incident. Both Fulstow and Hillier showed no remorse, even taking a holiday in Jamaica after the murder. The judges noted that Fulstow played a significant role in the crime and that the original trial was handled thoroughly.
