Kashyap expressed his admiration after watching the film, which is based on Uzma Ahmed's true story. Kashyap, who recently announced his departure from Bollywood due to its toxic environment, also encouraged Abraham to consider a sequel to their 2007 film No Smoking. He emphasized the need for a unique subject to meet audience expectations. The Diplomat, directed by Shivam Nair, is set to release on March 14, 2025. The film features a cast that includes Sadia Khateeb and Kumud Mishra, among others.
