Annapolis man shot dead over school bullying dispute
A tragic shooting occurred last Wednesday during a confrontation at a school bus stop in Annapolis. The incident resulted in the death of 36-year-old John Simms Jr. and injured an 11-year-old boy. The shooting reportedly stemmed from an argument about alleged bullying. Taneisha Simms, John’s wife, said the couple had previously spoken with another family about their child bullying theirs. On the day of the shooting, tensions flared at the bus stop. Taneisha described how a woman sprayed mace at her and her children, prompting her husband to react. She said that during this confrontation, a man shot John multiple times. Taneisha expressed deep pain over witnessing her husband’s murder alongside their children. The suspect, Roscoe Jerome Jones, 31, is still at large. U.S. Marshals and local police are working together to locate and arrest him. Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson mentioned that they have leads and surveillance video from the incident. Taneisha is mourning the loss of her husband, describing it as overwhelming. The couple was about to celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary, but instead, she is focused on making funeral arrangements.
