American road tripper explores Sweden inspired by IKEA furniture names
Kevin Lynch, an advertising copywriter from Chicago, recently completed a two-week road trip across Sweden inspired by IKEA product names. He visited all 21 counties, exploring locations like Läckö and Norberg, which share names with popular furniture items. Lynch's journey included 4,600 kilometers of travel, ferry rides, and stays in various accommodations. He aimed to experience diverse sights and engage with locals about the IKEA connections, though many were unaware of the links to their towns. Despite the trip's focus on IKEA, Lynch has not visited an IKEA store since returning. He plans to explore more unique travel themes in the future, reflecting on how the trip changed his perspective on the brand's furniture.
