Amazon relocates headquarters near Bengaluru airport, employees voice concerns over commute

Amazon India is moving its corporate headquarters from the World Trade Centre in north-west Bengaluru to a new office near the airport. This change is part of Amazon's cost-cutting strategy, reducing rental costs significantly. The new office in Sattva will be ready by April 2026. Currently, Amazon occupies about 500,000 square feet at the WTC, raising concerns about the impact on Brigade Enterprises, the building's owner, and local rental markets. Many of Amazon's 5,000 employees are unhappy with the move, as it will increase their commute time to over 80 minutes. The relocation could affect their work-life balance, as the new site is about 20 kilometers away.
