Amazon India relocates headquarters to reduce costs in Bengaluru

Amazon India is relocating its headquarters from the World Trade Centre in northwest Bengaluru to a new office near the airport. The move is part of a cost-cutting strategy, with the new location expected to cost less than a third of the current rent. The new office, located in Sattva, is about 20 kilometers from the current site. Many employees are unhappy with the change, citing longer commutes and the loss of nearby amenities. Amazon plans to start the relocation in April 2025 and complete it by April 2026. Brigade Enterprises, which owns the World Trade Centre, confirmed that Amazon has not ended its lease. The move raises concerns about finding new tenants for the vacant space and potential impacts on local rental markets.
