Albuquerque woman damages 20 city vehicles, arrested
An Albuquerque woman has been arrested for allegedly damaging 20 city vehicles near the police headquarters. The woman, identified as Danielle Magee, is 48 years old. She faces a charge of criminal damage exceeding $1,000. Magee was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center but was later released on her own recognizance. Magee pleaded not guilty to a previous charge of criminal damage from December 2024. In that incident, she reportedly used a "large rusty metal object" to damage a police vehicle. A warrant had been issued for her arrest related to that case. On Monday, police received reports of Magee smashing windshields of police vehicles with a "blunt object." The complaint states she caused damage to a total of 20 government vehicles, totaling over $1,000. Magee chose not to discuss the incident when questioned by the police. This is not Magee's first brush with the law. In March 2023, she was charged with criminal damage after allegedly using a baseball bat to smash over 40 vehicles, including eight city vehicles. That case was dismissed in May 2024 because she was found incompetent to stand trial. Court records show that Magee has faced multiple charges of vandalism and criminal damage since 2022, often involving police buildings and vehicles. Many of her cases have been dismissed or categorized as incompetent to stand trial.
