Alabama prison guard arrested for inmate sexual misconduct

A prison guard in Alabama, Sabrina Taylor, was arrested on Monday for allegedly having a sexual relationship with an inmate. The 46-year-old worked at the W.C. Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore. This alleged affair lasted from February 24 to March 23. Authorities discovered the relationship during an investigation into contraband entering the prison. Taylor is accused of providing gifts to the inmate, including a cell phone, Bluetooth headphones, and iPods. It is reported that she was on duty when she received the phone from the inmate. Taylor has been charged with several offenses. These include custodial sexual misconduct and using her position for personal gain. She is also accused of promoting contraband in the prison and allowing the inmate to possess a cell phone. After her arrest by the Alabama Department of Corrections, Taylor was booked into jail. She was released the next evening. Officials have stated that more charges against her could be forthcoming. John Hamm, a commissioner, emphasized the importance of preventing corruption within the department. The W.C. Holman Correctional Facility is home to over 300 inmates and has been operational since 1969.
